On Jozef Walczyk's marriage record, his mother's name is recorded as "Marianna Bębnowa". The -owa is a feminine surname suffix. I believe the root name is Bęben (Bemben).

On Gregory Walczyk's death certificate, his father's name is recorded as "Gregory Walczyk". However, his baptism and marriage records confirm that his father's name was Andrzej.

Surname is spelled "Bochnie" on the marriage record of her son Jan Data to Marianna Marcisz, but from other records it seems that her surname could be either Bochnia or Bochenek.

John Francis Walle was born Jan Franciszek Walczyk.

Because Stanisław Wacławik was born out of wedlock, his father's name was not recorded in the parish baptism register. That does not, however, necessarily mean that his identity was unknown to Stanisław's mother.

Surname was spelled "Pionk" in earlier records but our family used the "Pionke" spelling in the U.S.

Bazowa is a feminine version of a surname. The root name could be something like Baz or Baza. I found very few records with the name "Baza" in our ancestors' parishes (four in Kielno and none in Strzepcz). However, in Przodkowo, which is not too far away, there are numerous records with the surnames Baza or Barza. Interestingly, the spelling of this name seems to have evolved to Barzow or Bazow and later Barzowski.

It is difficult to determine the correct spelling of this name. It is "Freibös" on Joseph's death record and "Freibis" on his widow Paulina's grave. But is is also spelled "Frie-" or "Fry-" with endings of "-bes" or "-bies" or "-bus" etc.

Surname was spelled "Słowik" in earlier records but "Słowy" became more common in later records.

On Paulina Abraham Freibis' death certificate, her mother's name is recorded as Mary Aland. However, according to the baptism records of Paulina and her siblings, their mother's surname actually began with an "E" and was commonly spelled Eland, Elant, Elandt, Ellendt, or even Heland(t).

On August Kunkel's death certificate, his father's name is recorded as "John Kunkol". However, his baptism record indicates that his father's name was Joseph Konkol.

It is difficult to determine which, if any, is the correct or "official" spelling of August Kunkel's surname. Church records for August and his family (both in Poland and in Chicago) use mainly the Konkol or Kąkol spellings. Civil records include a mix of Kunkel, Konkel, Konkol, and even Kunkol.

Bartholomæus Klawikowski and Justina Wick are not confirmed as the parents of Jacob Klawikowski. However, there is good evidence to suggest they are the correct parents and this is currently my working theory.
